▍Introduction
Products must meet the applicable Indian safety Standards and mandatory registration requirements before they are imported into or released or sold in India. All electronic products in the mandatory registration product catalogue must be registered in the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) before they are imported into India or sold in the Indian market. In November 2014, 15 mandatory registered products were added. New categories include mobile phones, batteries, power bank, power supplies, LED lights, POS terminal, etc.

● Lithium cell/battery test standard: IS 16046 (Part 2): 2018 (refer to IEC 62133-2:2017)
● Coin Cells / Batteries are also in the scope of Mandatory Registration.
